Already popular in Japan, and recently introduced in the US, Canada has finally received its first Mitsubishi i EV.
An i-MiEV (Mitsubishi Innovative Electric Vehicle) has already been purchased in Manitoba. Ross Redman was the first to pick up the vehicle. He already owns "a number of devices that are eco-friendly, the latest addition being the electric car," according to one local paper.1
Mitsubishi received numerous awards for their EV, including winner of 'Fuel Economy Leaders: 2012 Model Year' by the EPA annual Economy Guide.
You can now order an i-MiEV at Biggers Mitsubishi in Elgin, IL, with models officially hitting streets in January, 2012. The electric vehicle is a four-passenger, five-door hatchback subcompact. Its smooth ride makes it to a top speed of 130 km/h (about 75-80 mph), while making it 155 Km (about 90 miles) on a single charge.
