Available from Biggers Mitsubishi - Elgin, IL - the "i" is powered by a 49-kW motor and 16-kWh lithium-ion battery. Mitsubishi i reaches 112 combined MPGe, hitting a top speed of 81 mph. Regenerative braking recharges the battery, allowing Mitsubishi's electric engine to achieve a range of 62 miles per charge.

Mitsubishi i EV Enters Canada

Already popular in Japan, and recently introduced in the US, Canada has finally received its first Mitsubishi i EV.

An i-MiEV (Mitsubishi Innovative Electric Vehicle) has already been purchased in Manitoba. Ross Redman was the first to pick up the vehicle. He already owns "a number of devices that are eco-friendly, the latest addition being the electric car," according to one local paper.1
